Bethany International Participates in Tsunami Relief Efforts
On January 8, Paul Strand, former president of Bethany, and Rand Olson, a former Bethany missionary who has worked in relief and development, traveled to Indonesia to explore our role in the tsunami relief efforts. They met with one of Bethany's missionaries in Indonesia to conduct an onsite assessment of the crisis. Paul and Rand also met with several of Bethany's partner organizations in Asia to obtain their evaluation of the situation and consider possible cooperative strategies in providing relief. Bethany is exploring the possibility of developing a long-term recovery and development program that would help to advance the Gospel in this predominantly Muslim region.
One of our GO100 partner ministries in Indonesia has told us that one of their churches in Banda Aceh lost a third of its 90 members, and the pastor is desperately seeking help. Bethany has begun to and continues to raise funds to help our Indonesian partners in their efforts. More than $2,800 has been raised so far. If you desire to contribute to this effort, send your checks to:

Please continue to pray and consider partnering with Bethany in our relief efforts as we minister to our brothers and sisters across the world in the wake of this tragic catastrophe.
