GlobeServe Partner Dies in Indonesian Plane Crash
Pastor Evans Sinaga, a trainer graduate of Bethany School of Missions, Singapore, was killed in the September 5 plane crash in Medan, Indonesia. “Pastor Sinaga leaves behind his wife and five children,” reports Dr. Tan Kok Beng, CEO of Asia Pacific Mission/Bethany School of Missions (BSM), Singapore, one of Bethany’s GlobeServe partner schools.
Pastor Sinaga, who graduated from BSM in 2001, ran a training center to train Indonesians for ministry. He also pioneered a church which has started several branches. Since the tsunami on December 26, 2004, Pastor Sinaga was greatly involved in relief ministry in Aceh province. Thousands were fed each week through food distribution, and clothing and other essentials were provided through his ministry. “Indonesia has lost a great friend and a man of God. We are so proud of this servant of God. He has now gone to be with Jesus to receive his due reward,” said Kok Beng.
Please remember Pastor Sinaga’s wife and five children in prayer. Please pray too that the work he has begun will continue to prosper and that new leadership will be challenged to take his place.
