The Ethiopian Kale Heywet Church has collaborated with Bethany International since 2000 in the launch of a missionary training school. Scores of Ethiopians have been trained as missionaries and are starting church planting movements in Ethiopia and beyond. Bethany and the Kale Heywet Church are now seeking to train the more than 700 national evangelists from the Church who do not have cross-cultural training in missions. As a result, their effectiveness in reaching Muslims with the Gospel is quite limited. The goal is to launch eight missionary training schools throughout Ethiopia to train the 700 evangelists.
In light of a training program started in 2006 the Ethiopian Church is confident that the following can be achieved:
Project Cost - $358,150
Of this amount the Ethiopian Kale Heywet Church will commit $174,700. In addition to this a donor has given $70,000.
Included in this are the following needs:
Translation and materials for 700 students ……………………………………..$21,875

India national partners have joined with Bethany to see churches planted among Hindus. Since 2003 five missionary training schools have been established throughout India. Rev. Tetseo oversees the Indian initiative which coordinates a missions mobilization movement into Nepal, Bhutan, Sikkim, Myanmar and Bangladesh.
In 2008 thirty-seven students completed their training and are now serving as missionaries. Also, more than fifty chaplains and church planters were trained through short-term courses lasting up to three months. During 2009 approximately fifty graduates will complete their training and being church planting movements.
During 2009 the goal is to start five new missionary training schools. In addition to this, resources will be used to provide scholarships for worthy students who are preparing for a missions career along with essential materials to assist in the training of missionaries.

In 2002 two Missionary Training Schools were started. Today five schools are functioning. Each school trains 20-25 missionaries each year. In 2009 a new Missionary Training School will be started in Bhutan. Already many churches have been planted. A Hub which overseas all the missionary training throughout Nepal was dedicated on December 11, 2008. The Hub will make possible the expansion of Missionary Training Schools throughout Nepal.
