Prayer Ministry
The Lord has called Bethany International to partner with Him and His people in the fulfillment of the Great Commandment and the Great Commission. Because we believe that the Great Commission can be accomplished only through the supernatural energizing that comes through intimacy with God, we are making prayer our priority.
Born out of prayer and sustained by faithful intercessors through our history as a missions organization, it was in 2001 that prayer was given an official organizational place in Bethany through the appointment of a Vice President for Global Prayer.
Since then the advancement of prayer on our campus has been phenomenal, impacting the spiritual climate and awakening spiritual passion for God and His purposes for the nations. Our vision is to grow the prayer movement into a 24/7 House of Prayer for the nations, a furnace of love for God fueling the training and sending and sustaining of missionaries.
The Scriptures say that as we approach the end of the age, the hearts of most will grow cold because of the increase of lawlessness (Matthew 24:12; II Timothy 3:1-5). I believe it is the warmth of intimacy with God that will keep His people’s hearts warm in a cold world.
